CIMES and two partner organizations were all certified gold within the Green Office Certification program of FSUĀ Sustainble Campus. That led to the first Green Office Certified building at FSU. It also led to a Florida TaxWatch Productivity Award for Mitch Gans of the Research Computing Center, Will Hill of the Resilient Infrastructure and Disaster Response (RIDER) Center, and Kev Sullivan of CIMES, who spearheaded the effort.
The Sustainable Green Team's goal is to promote socially and environmentally sustainable practices at the university. To that end, they created a program through which offices across campus may request a pre-posted envelope that they can fill with plastic ring drink carriers. They then return the envelope to the team through campus mail for proper recycling.
