Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services
- Division of Food Safety
The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services conducts recall audit checks in collaboration with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to ensure that food and product recalls have been appropriately carried out. The results of these checks are reported on FDA Form 3177. However, because inspectors are seldom required to conduct recall audit checks or use this form, up-front training related to this task is not reinforced by experience and thus may not be retained by the inspectors. CIMES developed award winning just-in-time web-based training. The scenario-based training uses an approach that helps learners grasp concepts quickly and effectively. The module is being used nationally.

Florida Council Against Sexual Violence
This short, high-impact web-based training can be used in group roll-call situations at law enforcement agencies or viewed by patrol officers on their own. The module uses video interviews with a police captain, a state attorney, a trauma expert, and a patient representative to deliver its core message about the effects of trauma and encourage officers to adopt trauma-informed approaches. It also includes a practice scenario in which officers are presented with multiple-choice options for how to respond to a "victim" at various points in the law enforcement interview.

Florida Department of Health
The mission of the Division of Health Awareness and Tobacco was to reduce the use of tobacco products in Florida. The division had taken the lead in Tobacco Free Florida programs and partnerships, but needed to re-envision its systems to maximize resources, ensure accountability, and promote collaboration among its partners across Florida. CIMES created a centralized, web-based resource center, the Florida Tobacco Control Clearinghouse, and related resources to support the division’s information management and communication needs.

CIMES developed a multi-level information/program/business management system called the Tobacco Resource and Information Network to support the effectiveness of programs and services implemented by local grantees as part of Tobacco Free Nebraska. CIMES also created the Tobacco Free Nebraska Virtual Clearinghouse, where local grantees upload materials they have developed to share with other grantees, communities, and families across the state.

Florida BH IMPACT and the Florida State University College of Medicine worked with CIMES to create the FL Moms Mental Health Resource Directory. This new site brings a fresh, easy-to-use design, a powerful search tool, and the option for providers to manage their own data. A new map feature displays provider locations. The map view was created using CartoDB, OpenStreetMap, and Leaflet. Providers and moms may print and save their search results.

Florida Department of Health
- Bureau of Infection Control
The Bureau of Epidemiology, Florida Department of Health needed training on best practices for nursing staff members, including both registered nurses and nursing assistants, in three types of settings: acute care hospitals, ambulatory care facilities, and nursing homes. CIMES developed web-based training that included an overview of infection control with a focus on hand hygiene, isolation precautions, personal protective equipment, and immunizations. The overview was followed by audience-specific training for nurses and nursing assistants in the three care environments.
